I'm putting my heart and soul in to this journey, but it's not something I can do alone. The financial obligations of a bobsled driver are immense- we can easily spend $15,000 each season on travel, food, race fees, and housing. That's not including equipment cost, where runners for the sled cost $5000-$10,000, even for used sets. Think of them as the tires on a race car- they're a key component, and multiple sets are used for different circumstances. As a driver doing 2 man and 4 man disciplines, the cost of runners alone can easily exceed $20,000. My income goes directly to fostering success as a bobsledder, but simply put, I still need help.
